Need to replace air compressor on my foam marker or replace the whole mickey mouse setup that agchem put on my 750 gal pull type sprayer. the compressor is this one: http://www.drillspot.com/products/35718/Thomas_Industries_107CDC20_...

$314 seems high. These darn junk things don't last long with the dust and moisture. My foam marker also has a bunch of mickey mouse 1/8" solenoid valves that either won't open or shut completely off. May be better off to replace the whole setup. I've cussed it ever since I've had it for the last 15 years. any suggestions for a better pump or complete new foamer. Don't have gps, seriously considering something like a centerline 220 but still want a foamer.

I sprayed with foam 1st year. Went to Raven Cruizer, never put a drop of foam in the foamer again, last year just took the whole mess off the sprayer for good.

For not much more than the cost of a new foamer setup ($900 last I checked) you are getting close to price of several of the low end GPS systems. Talk to your local dealer, they might give you one to try for a day-that will be enough to tell you if it is for you or not.

Definitely would agree with going with a Cruizer. I did that last year and loved it. I just took my foamer off my sprayer and sold it so that Iam never tempted to use it again. If you seriously consider the cost of maintaining the foamer and the cost of foam and the cost of your time to fill the foamer, a Cruizer looks pretty cheap. Plus you can use it while spreading dry fertilizer, putting on ammonia, combining, or even spraying your yard. Iam not trying in any way to sell you on a Cruizer, if you find a similar product that does the same thing by all means buy it. Iam just trying to sell you on the idae of considering a guidance system as an alternative to what you got. BHTN

Maybe not what you want to hear but I would not spend the money for another air compressor. I have bought several over the years (spra coupe) and after buying a EZ500 I would not ever want to go back to using the foamer. Yes we have small irregular fields to say the least. I sprayed our very hilly pastures with it this past Saturday. I could make a long list of the positives for the GPS and about as long a list of the negatives for the foamer. My 2 cents. okhayballr

If you are bound and determined to use foam i will look for some pictures of my setup, $40 air pump mounted in a filtered cabinet, shurflo pumps for the soap and no valves except the no-drip orifice type, homemade mixing chambers and collectors, throttling valves on the soap. Haven't used that dang thing since I got a cruizer and I really don't miss it--and I have some of the oddest shaped fields as anyone. k5430

You might try calling Fluid systems and components out of Kansas City, Kansas phone no. is (913) 642-0111. It's been acouple of years since I ordered one, but they were half the cost if I were to get one from my local supplier. I have a outback s lite lightbar, still use foam occasionally, love the light bar. Good luck!! rebelhill
